I know you probably don't want me to post some long sob story about raising money for charity, but I'm gonna.

A year ago I was lucky enough to learn about the efforts of Lisa Spodak. For several years, she's been raising money to fight Breast Cancer. Anyway, she does it in a fun geeky way. She takes items, bears or boxing gloves, and has stars of stage, screen, tv, print, and athletics sign them. She takes pictures of the stars with the signed object and then auctions the item.

I've talked with her and she is so very nice and funny. If you're looking for a cool collectible for yourself or someone you know, check out her auctions. She recently received boxing gloves signed by the cast of BSG. She also has bears from most of the BSG cast as well. In the past she has had stars from Buffy, Firefly, Rent, Lost, Harry Potter and many more.

Thanks for reading. Combating breast cancer is very near to my heart. I've had two aunts fight breast cancer. I'm at a greater risk because of this. I’ve faced stressful doctor’s visits and followups because they want to err on the side of caution. I like that kind of err. Go ahead and look at the auctions. She was a favorite link on my site.
